Purpose of our Project:

Our goal in this project is to raise money for new instruments for our TVYS junior program. We believe that ANYONE can make a joyful noise and learn to love sharing music. We want to get out ALL of the instruments in our community that have been collecting dust and put them to use. We also believe that we can have a lot of fun making "Awfully Good" music!

Volunteer as an Instrument Coach

Do you know how to play your instrument well enough that you can teach someone how to play "Hot Cross Buns" and "Twinkle, Twinkle little Star"?  We are looking for musicians 16 and older who are willing to participate as a coach in our "Awfully Good Sinfonia" project.

The time commitment will include the following:

  • Opening Social- meet the students who you will be coaching and exchange contact info- 1 hour

  • Training for coaching with TVYS staff- we will give you music, materials and a teaching outline for coaching your instrument team to perform in our "Awfully Good Sinfonia" 1- hour

  • Coaching sessions with your team and concert- you will meet with your instrument team for the whole day of our "Awfully Good Sinfonia" 10 am- 7 pm (9 hours) The concert begins at 6 pm.

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Tooele Valley Youth Symphony,

With full hearts and deep gratitude, we are writing to inform you that the Tooele Valley Youth Symphony (TVYS) will be closing its doors. While this marks the end of an incredible chapter, it is also a time to reflect on all the joy, growth, and wonderful memories we’ve shared together.

From our humble beginnings in 2019 to the countless rehearsals, performances, and tours, we have been inspired by the passion and talent of our young musicians, the dedication of our amazing coaches and volunteers, and the unwavering support of our community. The TVYS was created with the hope of offering young people in the Tooele Valley a chance to experience the transformative power of music, and we are proud of everything we have accomplished together.

We have celebrated incredible milestones—like our first concert honoring veterans, our successful summer tours, and the formation of our nonprofit organization. Most importantly, we’ve seen our students grow not just as musicians, but as leaders, mentors, and role models. These experiences have brought our community closer together, and we’ve been inspired by the generosity and enthusiasm from all of you.

As we bring the symphony to a close, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has played a part in making this program so special. Your time, talent, donations, and encouragement have meant the world to us. Because of you, our young musicians have had the opportunity to dream big, work hard, and perform at their highest potential.

While our operations are coming to an end, we know that the impact of TVYS will continue to resonate in the lives of all those who were part of this journey. The lessons learned, the friendships made, and the love of music will stay with our musicians as they continue to pursue their passions in the future.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your incredible support over the years. We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together and are grateful for the opportunity to have served this amazing community through the gift of music.

With heartfelt appreciation,
