The Tooele Valley Youth Symphony (TVYS) program serves over 120 students, ages 8-18, each year, who hail from different public and private schools throughout the greater Tooele Valley. For some, TVYS has become their primary source for music education as many schools have reduced or eliminated their (elementary) music education curriculum.
As an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Tooele Valley Youth Symphony relies on the generosity of individual donors, foundations, government agencies and corporate sponsors. Membership in TVYS is tuition-based, but tuition only covers approximately one third of TVYS’s budget. Your donation directly support the TVYS program, which includes:
- Sectional rehearsals with paid professional coaches.
- Masterclasses with renowned artists.
- Providing free symphony concerts for the community.
- Providing musical performances for festivals in other cities, states, and countries.
- Tuition assistance to students in financial need.
When making a donation, we ask that you write in the notes section the name of the individual or organization that you represent so that we may properly thank you. If this is a corporate donation, please also leave your website link (if any) and contact info so that we may properly place you on our donors list. Your Gifts Support TVYS Students
Become a donor today and join the TVYS community of like-minded individuals who believe in music education and ensure the future of culture. Any donation, large or small, can make a difference in the lives of our young symphony players. Here is an idea of how far reaching your donation could be:
$80 – Pay the cost of postage for our Veteran’s Day “Thank You” cards sent to veterans in Tooele Valley.
$150 – Support a masterclass for one section of the orchestra.
$250 – Help fund the recording of a concert and the distribution of CDs to the orchestra members.
$600 – Rental cost of an upright bass for a student in financial need.
$800 – Fund the full cost of participation in excess of tuition for one student for a year.
$1,000 – Subsidize sheet music rental and purchases for a typical year.
$5,000 – Underwrite one of our performances.
$12,000 – Pay for bus travel to performances outside of Tooele Valley for a year.
$16,000 – Pay for the percussion instruments that are needed.

As a way to say “thank you” for your donation to TVYS, we keep a list of those who donate and post it on our website. Depending on the donation amount, we list the names in the following categories:

PATRONS – $5,000-$9,999
SPONSORS – $1,000-$4,999
CONTRIBUTORS – $500-$999
SUPPORTERS – $100-$499
FRIENDS – Gifts up to $99
